A message from Lee, 2 December

02.12.15

It’s December! Our funding application to the Australia Council is in! YAY! Kit Brookman’s A Rabbit For Kim Jong-il closed after a great week at Parramatta Riverside! YAY! Benito di Fonzo’s A Riff on Keef  is a gas gas gas for the next two weeks! YAY! Alana Valentine’s Ladies Day starts rehearsal in two weeks! YAY!

And yes you can buy Griffin 2016 Subscriptions for your friends, family, co-workers, staff as gifts! YAY! If they aren’t up for a full year of Griffin you can always surprise them with tickets to a particular show. We will send you a wonderful little gift package. The last date we can Express Post it out is Friday December 18.

And for those of you who have enquired about which plays are suitable for younger theatre goers – I would say Replay and The Literati are fine for anyone over 12, and then all the other plays are fine for over 16. If you have particularly adventurous young theatre goers please call us closer to the production and we can give you an idea of how confronting a work may be. Just so you know in 2016 we are developing a new work for even younger Griffins – we will keep you posted.

We are finishing our year with the Studio Artists, David Williams, Karen Therese, Kim Hardwick, Guy Edmonds and Matt Zeremes and much as I will miss them being around the office, projects they have started with us this year will continue to develop. The new Studio should be covering their books and sharpening their pencils ready for an early January start! YAY!

And writers around the country have started sending in entries to the 2016 Griffin Award (deadline midnight December 31st 2015) YAY!

I love December!
