A Note from Tessa, 5 November

04.11.20

Hi!

 Whoa. It’s November!

Our much-loved Superheroes have just exited the Seymour Centre. Being new to the team at Griffin, it is an absolute joy welcoming artists into the company and being receptive to what they need to make great experiences for our audiences. Shari Sebbens’s directorial debut was a masterclass in how to face new challenges with an incredible sense of flair, and I can’t wait to see her next shows… The Superheroes team will be sorely missed!

However, with every show that bumps out, a new one bumps in and the much-anticipated Wicked Sisters is currently entering. The formidable Nadia Tass is at the helm of this cutting, funny and whip-smart play by Alma De Groen featuring an amazing ensemble of actors. Whilst we are so sad not to be in our beautiful Stables here in Kings Cross, we have found a pretty great temporary home in Chippendale and look forward to welcoming you there.

Griffin is excited to be part of the Contemporary Asian Australian Performance Artist Lab currently underway—which means we’re going into a wonderfully curated intensive later this month. Declan and I will be running some workshops, and are thrilled to be working with some of Australia’s best all in one place!

Since you last heard from us, we have also been busy putting together the finishing touches on some pretty ace shows for 2021. If you keep an eye on your inbox over the next few days, you might just receive a certain special invitation to a certain special Season Launch… make sure to keep your eyes peeled!

We are seriously proud and excited to show you what’s coming up, because we are just itching to see you all again and open our beloved Stables back up.

Until next time!
Tessa
