A Note from Karen, 8 November

06.11.18

It’s not often I’m invited to write the enews note…but as Lee is gallivanting overseas, and Phil is occupied with a new play and a new baby…this week I am thrilled to be taking the reins!

And there is much to write about:

Nick Coyle’s brilliantly funny and poignant The Feather in the Web is in its last weeks. If you haven’t seen this play yet, get on to our (new) website and book your tickets. The cast are beautiful and generous and did I say funny? Wrapped in the work of director Ben Winspear and the amazing design team, it truly is a treat…so get onto it before it’s too late! Don’t regret missing this one.

Coming hot on the heels of The Feather in the Web is a cracking new play by Susie Youssef and Phil SpencerThe Smallest Hour. Not only written by them, but starring them! I was fortunate enough to hear a read last week, and let’s just say if you’re looking for a fab night out for Christmas (or even a great Christmas party idea—treat your staff!), then this is the play for you. If you think Susie is funny on the telly, or were fortunate enough to see her in STC’s recent production of Accidental Death of an Anarchist, don’t miss the opportunity to see her on the intimate Griffin stage. And Phil’s alright too, I reckon!

It is also your last chance to be in the running for our Super Big Win. The last day is Friday 9 November, so get on and subscribe to 2019 now to be in the running to win this fab prize (you should subscribe anyway!). If Lee was writing this, I know she would say there’s only seven weeks until Christmas. There are Christmas lights up in our street already—I know, a little early maybe. Our gift certificates make the best presents. They’re valid for three years, and you can use them to gift a subscription or tickets to a show! What’s not to love about that?

Hope to see you at the Stables soon!
