22 November 2020
As part of celebrating 50 Years of the Stables, Griffin is presenting a series of rehearsed play readings across 2020 of seminal works from the Stables’ canon. These readings are hosted by theatre aficionado John McCallum, former Griffin Script Club captain and theatre reviewer for the Australian.
Our final play reading for the year is Kafka Dances by Timothy Daly.
Inside the mind of Franz Kafka, his boisterous family, his sensible, organised fiancée, a clamorous band of Yiddish performers and his overwhelming desire to write scuffle for dominance. We join Kafka’s struggle to create intimacy, find his voice and follow his vocation in this vibrant and insightful play by Timothy Daly, with Ros Horin back at the helm directing the reading.
