Griffin Studio is one of the longest-running artist programs in Australia, with a solid track record of ushering vibrant—and important—new works to the stage. In 2024, we are looking for another batch of playwrights to join us for a one-year residency.
Over 2024, Studio playwrights will develop a new play with support from Griffin’s Artistic team, while undertaking workshops on aspects of playwriting and theatremaking.
Playwrights will become deeply embedded in the fabric of the company as they attend opening nights, get behind-the-scenes peeks of our 2024 shows and assist with play assessments—helping to shape future seasons.
You don’t need to have a specific project in mind just yet—Griffin Studio is all about exploration and wrangling the brilliant ideas swirling around in your brain, before committing them to paper.
Griffin Studio is open to residents of Greater Sydney who are emerging/in the early stages of their writing career.
