Running since 2004, Griffin Ambassadors is our annual access-all-areas program for year 10, 11 and 12 students. The program is stocked with a hearty menu of workshops, performances and access to industry professionals, all geared to support the next generation of theatre-goers and theatremakers.
Ambassadors are united by a common curiosity about contemporary Australian stories, a love of theatre and the motivation to know more! As a Griffin Ambassador, you’ll get to attend all Main Season productions in Griffin’s Season as well as dedicated workshops attached to each production where you’ll learn about a specific theatre craft.
Dates for 2025 Ambassador performances are:

I especially enjoyed that we worked on a range of skills, including script writing, intimacy co-ordination, vocal work…This holistic approach provided a lot more insight into how the industry works, and has allowed me to approach the preliminary drama course with greater confidence and understanding regarding professional practice, which I have enjoyed implementing into my work at school. I subsequently feel much more prepared for the HSC course as well.

Thank you so much for having me in the program! I absolutely adored my time in it and I’m so grateful that I got to be a part of it all! One of my favourite memories amidst leaving high school. I loved that the program brought people together from all over NSW, from Inner Westies and the CBD all the way to Wollongong, Newcastle and the Blue Mountains. I met a lot of people from all walks of life and I really built a strong network of dramatic peeps. I loved the workshops and I know every attendee got something out of it. If not for their dramatic studies, then for real life.

The entire program is incredibly invaluable, and the fact that we’re fortunate enough to have access to such an important, informal educational utensil, makes me feel extraordinarily proud to be an Australian teen, in the context of theatre and learning. It has inspired me to continue writing and pursue more theatrical endeavours. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone and everyone interested in theatre, English or diversity.
– Miriam, Griffin Ambassador 2019
I am so grateful to have been a Griffin Ambassador for 2019. I will not forget the quality of the plays, what I learnt through the workshops and the memories I’ve created through the program.
– Jessica, Griffin Ambassador 2019
The most valuable part of the program was meeting others my own age who share the same passion I do. It’s really rare to find other teens who are so invested in and passionate about the dramatic arts.
– Helena, Griffin Ambassador 2017
Being a Griffin Ambassador allowed me to see Australian shows brought to life in such innovative and creative ways. I enjoyed being able to discuss the shows with my fellow Ambassadors, and also participating in eye-opening workshops with some amazing Australian theatre artists. Being a Griffin Ambassador has certainly broadened my understanding of theatre, and I have no doubt that I will use what I have learned this year in a future career in the arts.
– Margaret, Griffin Ambassador 2017
What it does better than any other youth-based program, is cultivate discussions and dialogues between talented theatre artists who are successfully working in the industry, and the young people who will one day be contributing to the industry themselves.
– Laura, Griffin Ambassador 2010
