Working out of the iconic and intimate SBW Stables Theatre means that box office income can’t cover the cost of putting on our productions and running our artistic development and community programs. Because of this, we depend on the generosity of individual patrons to keep the company going.

Gifts come in all shapes and sizes, they all make a difference, and they are all tax deductible.

What your donations do

More than you would imagine! Donations make possible a broad range of programs and activities, including:

  • The commissioning of new work;
  • Workshops and readings of scripts in development;
  • Artist residencies providing skills development and pathways to creating main stage work;
  • Griffin Ambassadors: free theatre tickets and workshops for year 10 to 12 students;
  • The Griffin Award: one of the country’s most prestigious playwriting competitions; and
  • Free performances for local community and welfare groups.

How we say thank you

We hold regular events to bring our donors closer to the company.

  • If you donate $300 or more to Griffin, you’ll receive regular invitations to attend our ‘Inside the Rehearsal Room’ events where you’ll meet the actors and learn more about our productions. Your name will be included on our acknowledgement board in the Stables Foyer.
  • Donate $500 or more and your name will be included on play programs and you’ll be invited to our season launch and other Griffin special events.
  • Our major donors (>$4,000) are also invited to all of our Main Season opening nights.
