The Martin Lysicrates Prize celebrates the best new Australian writing for children. Griffin Theatre Company presented the 2017 and 2018 prizes in association with The Lysicrates Foundation and Riverside’s National Theatre of Parramatta (NToP).
In 2019, the prize is presented by Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) and NToP. You can find out the details here.
The winner of the 2018 Martin Lysicrates Prize was Brendan Hogan for his play Farewell Mr Nippy! Brendan then received a full commission to complete the work. Runners up were Nick Coyle (Jake Cameron Meet and Greet) and Katy Warner (The Meme and the Moon).
The winner of the inaugural Martin Lysicrates Prize was Katie Pollock for her play, Summerland. The runners-up were Dan Giovannoni for House and Verity Laughton for The Zookeeper’s Daughter.
