A Note From Harry, 29 May

29.05.25

Dear Griff-friend,

Can it be? A hot new bombshell has entered the villa? (And by villa I mean Griff HQ, and by bombshell I mean Griffin’s new Relationship Manager, and by hot I mean… no you know what? I stand by hot). For those of you in eNews-land I haven’t yet had the chance to meet in person, yap over the phone, or converse with over email, my name is Harry and I’m the newest member of our small but mighty team here at Griffin.

A lot has happened since I joined back in March and I’m already starting to feel like part of the furniture around here. Where did the time go? Well, to be fair, I was in New York for three weeks only a month after I started, but when the Big Apple calls you simply must answer. And not to brag, but I did see all five of the Tony-nominated Best Actresses in their leading roles before they were announced, so I guess you could say I know how to pick a winner.

Want to know my next pick? Michelle Lim Davidson’s Koreaboo. This show has enchanted me since I joined and I feel very lucky to have witnessed the cast and creatives in rehearsal. If you want dance, heart and general silliness this show is for you, the season starts 14 June at Belvoir St Theatre. Rehearsals also kicked off this week for our first Griffin Lookout production of 2025, SISTREN! The blazingly talented performer Iolanthe (seven methods of killing Kylie Jenner) makes her playwriting debut, sharing the stage with her IRL bestie, the extra-ordinary Janet Anderson (Overflow). One for the hotties! Clutch your pearls and hang on tight as this dynamic duo take you for a ride—get your tickets now 👯‍♀️

Can you smell that? No, not the rain-soaked pavement (although I do love that smell), that other smell. The sweet, unmistakable scent of the End of Financial Year—a fundraiser’s favourite, and busiest, time of year. Videos are being shot, letters are being printed, photos are being edited, all as we gear up to launch our annual campaign. It’s a moment where we get to pause and reflect on our incredible Griff-family who donate and continue to make what we do possible. To those who have donated in the past and those who continue to donate, THANK YOU! If you’d like to make a donation before we launch (because you’re so keen), you can donate here. No amount is too small, and every donation above $2 is tax-deductible!

I think that’s all for now. I could keep talking for hours but you have an EOFY donation to make. Ahaha just kidding… unless? 👉👈

Bye for now,
Harry
