A Note from Amy, 27 November

27.11.25

Dear Grif-friend,

Amy here, Griffin’s Production and Technical Coordinator, reporting for duty— my very first blog post! I work alongside our Production Manager Jimi to bring to life the designs our creative team conjure up (think set, props, lights, sound and sometimes a special effect or two 😉)

We’re a small but mighty team at Griffin. My role often means picking up tasks that don’t fall neatly onto anyone else’s list, sometimes it’s like having a whole new job every day! During Naturism you might caught me at the supermarket stocking up on Twisties, in the theatre setting up for our closed-captioned performance or at the office looking into the ways we could save the set, props and costumes from ending up in landfill at the end of the run—and I’m thrilled to say we succeeded!

It may appear that the production department has gone into hibernation with our 2025 season wrapped up, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. We’re full steam ahead on 2026, with our first performance. The Elocution of Benjamin Franklin is approaching fast! The ball is rolling on the pre-production process (picture me surrounded by script pages and highlighters) and rehearsals are just weeks away, starting right after the holidays. No spoilers but trust me—you won’t want to miss this one!

The Elocution of Benjamin Franklin is playing in the Downstairs Theatre, Belvoir 21 February to 29 March. Pre-sale tickets go live 1 December, 10am exclusively for Griffin eNews subscribers online or over the phone. Not subscribed yet? Now’s the perfect time! Sign up and we’ll send the presale link straight to your inbox. (Public sales begin 24 hours later on 2 December at 10am.) And if you want to ensure you get a ticket, you can purchase a 2026 Griffin subscription now!

Look forward to seeing you there!
